The Fund was approved by the FAIA Board of Directors in May 2009. In June 2009 at the 105th Anniversary Convention, a $500,000 check was presented from FAIA to the Good Works Fund to create the fund.

The Good Works Fund will serve several purposes, including:

  • Endowments to colleges that have agreed to present an insurance degree program
  • Scholarships to students in insurance degree programs
  • Recruitment of new talent into the insurance industry
  • Disaster relief and public assistance as needed

The Community Foundation of North Florida (CFNF) manages all contributions to FAIA's Good Works Fund. In this way, FAIA members will be able to donate money for these purposes as a charitable donation with the accompanying tax benefits.
